I happen to know the guy Traavik,...well guess what.
I happen to know the guy Traavik, who is currently working with the cambodia- landmine contest, night and day, and receiving absolutely nothing for it. Neither did he profit for the angola contest. Though I do find your comments relevant, or else i wouldn't bother to comment, i think it's an absolutely brilliant project precisely because it does raise debate about gender, objectification, orientalism, etc...and because it is fascinating to notice the western discomfort with the idea compared to predominantly enthusiastic local reception.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4481691725314537521.post-27465177700723337302008-08-14T16:31:00.000+02:002008-08-14T16:31:00.000+02:00Well guess what. The miss landmine winner is compla...Well guess what.
The miss landmine winner is complaining (newspapers- Jornal de noticias, visao, agĂȘncia Lusa)she didn't receive what was promised to her: a house, transport she also complains she has no funding when she visits hospitals.
It seems to me now it is obvious where the money went: to the Baltic Festival and probably the artist pockets.
Plus it raises the big question all this money could have been better spend by putting it in the hands of people who have been doing work on this field.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
